How freaking stupid can you be?
"Let's see. Step one, announce that I'm going to run for President. That'll leave us at least 6 months before we ought to try to purchase the domain name."

I hope the domain is owned by someone else named Ted Cruz, who puts up a fight to maintain his own domain that he uses for political purposes. :)

Or end up like the movie Brazil, where you have to pay for your own brutal interrogation by the Ministry of Information.

Privatized prisons & probation are a shameful kind of corruption offering all the wrong kind of incentives to contractors & politicians entirely. The more people you keep locked up & strung out on fines & fees, the more money you make & the more you can use on behalf of your political benefactors. There's a lot of gravy in maintaining the misery.

Didn't read the article. What does he propose would take its place?

Not going waste time with the article but if I were to guess, it would be a private company that would be under contract to collect taxes.

An Arizona lawyer owns the domain and has the same name, it's been up since 2008 i guess.

Because inherently love paying taxes so much you won't need an enforcement agency?

You can simplify the tax code and change how taxes are paid but at some point someone is going to have actually send the money to the government and the government is going to have to some enforcement mechanism in place since sure as the sun rises someone will look for ways to get out of paying taxes.

I guess you like the system that we now that allows congress to offer up kick backs and special interest perks to big money donors through the tax code? You must enjoy the corruption we have now with our elected officials having so much power through the tax code. Whats even better is the gustopo power the IRS has against us mere peasants. You surely couldn't support someone wanting to fix that huh? Wallstreet loves you!

Nope I didn't say any of those things. Just commented that "abolish the IRS" is a simple minded idiotic statement.

And anyone that took Cruz's statement literally is a simple minded idiot. The overwhelming majority of people understood exactly what Cruz was saying. It's unrealistic to expect Republicans to dumb down everything they say so lefty/proggies can understand it. There's no need for it.

So you expect simple minded statements from politicians you support instead of specific and substantive policy discussions. I guess they know their target audience quiet well.

BTW if you notice there are at least 2 people in this thread who support his statement at face value. So maybe you are a slightly smarter rock, good for you.

You are one dense mofo you know that? The opening speech of what could be an 18 month campaign and you want him to outline every detail of everything so it will fit all nice and neat inside your pointy little head.

BTW, he was on the stage alone. Who would he be holding a discussion with?

Sue your teachers. You've got a good case.

Does Ted Cruz believe his own stuff? I doubt he is as dogmatic and simple minded as he leads on. He is really an intelligent person who is showboating. I put this guy in the Trump category. I don't think he's serious about being president, but is more interested in the attention and fame that comes along with a run. Maybe he's one rung higher than The Donald, but he's still much closer to Trump than he is to, say, Scott Walker or John Kasich. Being a far-right lunatic is his standout feature and the whole of his appeal with whoever it is that finds him appealing.

What should be apparent to the party bosses, that a Pubbie conservative death match among the craziest of the candidates does nothing but weaken the party and their objectives. They come-off looking illegitimate and unfit to lead. The Democrats don't have to lift a finger or spend a dime on any campaigns as long as these clowns keep trying to out-conservative each other. The reality is that no matter how crazy the republicans get they are probably still guaranteed 45%+ of the vote.

Gawd. Ted exhibited a masterful command of pandering to his irrational base with the usual emotional sloganeering, reinforcing their state of denial.

He apparently had the desired effect on you. He might as well have been stroking your dick. That wouldn't really make sense, but none of what he said made any sense, either.

But it felt good anyway, right? Of course it did.

Sounds like your talking about Obama, tell them what they want to hear and then do the opposite. Now show me where Cruz has done that? It's so funny when the left just accuses the right of doing the crappy things that they are actually doing.

Please. I never claimed he'd do the opposite of what he said. That's the really scary part.

Worthless thread.
We might as well get used to it....for every Republican candidate that announces, there will be dozens of 'circle jerk' threads smearing them in every way possible. That's the way the "intellectuals" roll here. Sad, but true.
