Freaking hilarious. Wouldn't that be something if ted cruz was gone?

So cruz thinks that by pointing out that Beto O'Rourke drops the occasional f-bomb, that he's
not fit to be a politician.?

This is Cruz's tweet
"A lighthearted reminder: A #LaborDay picnic is a great place to bring the kids. A Beto O’Rourke rally? Not so much"

Replies?
"Many of us have taken our kids 2 Beto rallies. Ya wanna know what happened? They got interested in politics & coming together 4 positive change. They were inspired, as were adults. Wanna know what doesn’t inspire us? Begging 4 support from the man who insulted your family & lying"

"Every ad Ted Cruz and the Texas GOP put out makes me like Beto even more."

Just last week cruz tried to make O-Rourke look bad by pointing out he played in a band.

"Although the ad might appeal to the pearl-clutching demographic, the effect so far seems to be similar to what happened last week when the Texas GOP tried to make O’Rourke look bad by pointing out he was once in a band."

The GOP tweet:
"

Texas GOP @TexasGOP

Maybe Beto can’t debate Ted Cruz because he already had plans..."

The replies?

Definitely don't want to vote for this cool guy who did fun stuff and had friends.

Omg. Your strategy is to make fun of him for being in a 90’s band?!?! You need a new strategist! Half your GOP base was in a band as a kid. In fact, it’s one of the few bipartisan ways we bond - laughing as we remember our outdated hair, music, and high school bands.

Replying to @TexasGOP
This is two more friends than Ted Cruz has ever had.

Ted’s having Trump stump for him, he actually asked for Trump’s help. Desperate times for Ted.

Who cares about f-bombs, the guy got into a DUI accident in his 20s and recently released reports suggest he allegedly tried to flee the scene:

Looks like Snopes did a fact check on Beto:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/beto-orourke-reality-check/

Sounds like the privileged son of a well connected and powerful county judge with several incidents indicating lapses in judgment and breaches of ethics. He’s perfect for Washington!

Yup, WGAF now?

"He has talked about the arrest while campaigning to unseat Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. In a recent op-ed , he described the incident as a “serious mistake for which there is no excuse.” He has not addressed the witness account of his alleged attempt to flee."

Well, at least he owns it, so he won't fit well as a GOP rep.

My best friend lost his father to a DUI driver, so I am not so forgiving. Glad he “owned it”.

Seems like he has a fair amount to own, as does his family. He sounds like the lost Kennedy.

It's not a race, GOP won. Taking the high ground did not yield expected results, because people's self defeating stupidity was underestimated.
I don’t recall anyone taking the high ground. I do recall a lot of DGAF GOP voters choosing Trump, and I fail to see how that choice has any bearing on calling in to question O’Rourke’s character.

Oh, you don't? Considering who the GOP is willing to vote for, O'Rourke seems tame. That clear it up for you?

Race you to the bottom!
Your highly principled and not at all blindly disproportionate or wildly partisan concern is duly noted.

Gandhi beat his wife, Mother Theresa was a stone cold bitch at times in person, and I think Bill Cosby just put something in my g/f's jello. God is dead and Jesus, while resurrected, is two years short of being able to run for Prez. What will a weeping moral absolutist like you do?

Here's a little thought experiment for you. Name one national political figure you would vote for and we'll pull down his dirty knickers and show you the goddamned canker sores only slightly obscured by the off-shore banking receipts he loves to wrap around his johnson, k?

Then what will you do?

Wrong comparison for this part of the world, try a lost Bush.

Not really. If you want to rationalize O’Rourke as the lesser evil, don’t let me stop you.

It's your choice of willful ignorance. You'll surely fallback on how #bothsides are just as bad. Theres no rationalization required, since it's knowledge gained by readily observable facts. Look how far back you had to go to find some "dirt". Maybe R's will vote for him if he was a bit raunchier and bragged about how fun and cool sexual assault is when you're famous. That's one, just one, example.

I would vote for Joe Biden or Elizabeth Warren or Seth Moulton or Robert Mueller or the late John McCain.

I am not going to vote for the son of a corrupt county judge whose privilege allowed him to escape accountability for a DUI among other things.

The only reason this guy is in the spotlight is because people are comparing him to Robert Kennedy and because he is a viable threat to Ted Cruz.

Seems like Democrat voters are willing to overlook their principles just to win an election. Where have we seen this before? Hmmmmm

The smartest thing Beto can do is to continue running his campaign the way he has and keep national Democrats at arms length. He is the most charismatic Democrat to run in Texas since Anne Richards. He is very talented as well and has broader appeal than I would expect. But the math has to work out in a pretty spectacular fashion for him win.

In a somewhat surprising move, the major Dallas newspaper endorsed one of Cruz's opponents in the Republican primary.

Ted Cruz wrote a brief hagiography of Donald Trump for Time Magazine where he praises Trump. The same Trump who accused Cruz's father of being involved in the Kennedy assassination and who called Cruz's wife ugly.

Regardless of how Texans feel about Trump or Cruz, I have to imagine that some of the manly men of Texas aren't proud of their senator sniveling before the man who insulted his family. People already believe that politicians will say and do anything to get (or stay) elected. That they have no backbones. That all they care about is winning. This Cruz love letter to Trump should only reinforce that view.

A campaign ad portraying Cruz as a sniveling weasel willing to kneel down before the guy who insulted his wife would probably be effective.

Painting Cruz as weak/uncool may be an effective electoral strategy and him trying to counter only reinforces that message (because I mean come on).

While O'Rourke still faces a stiff challenge... can you imagine if he won? The GOP is already nervous about losing its dreams of a one-party dictatorship. It'd probably turn to a full-on panic if a key senator in a "safe" state lost to a Democrat.
