Yep...mantis shrimp are fast...and wicked. They're called "thumb splitters" for a very good reason.
Most saltwater aquarists are familiar with them...many people actually set up special tanks for them.

Yeah, it can break the bones in fingers easily.

And the Mantis shrimp creates caviation bubbles as well, just as the pistol shrimp. I never knew that. So first there is a blow, then there is in front of the impact point a cavitation bubble that is just as destructive.
First a push, then a pull on the material that gets hit.

Cavitation is very interesting. Never realized it is such an issue with screw propeller that run to fast.
