That has already been known.

"Gaming Scientist" Pffftt.
Should be "Chief Spinner"

The obvious questions were not asked (Fury supply issues, pump issues, and so on), so this interview is highly disappointing.

BTW, he does admit that AMD gave the source to Mantle to Khronos for Vulkan. Imagine that.

not sure those are more important than the questions asked.

You guys are plain weird.

is that a bad thing or good thing? Which way are you spinning it? why use the word admit?

I imagine that the people that get mad at Huddy are ones that are already doing his job for free on the Internet =)

We already know what was causing Fury supply issues. It's resolved.

We also already have known for months that AMD gave the Mantle source to Khronos. Pretty much when Vulkan was announced.

Some people in this forum refused to admit that AMD had anything to do with Vulkan.
Never mind the fact that it was pretty obvious that they did have a hand in it.

It is not, UMC is only one part of the chain, there are many other parts.
I suppose we will find out more info once the next financial report is out in a few months.

Yes, and we had a boat load of naysayers who still refuse to believe it.
AMD can't possible do something that is good for everyone, not just themselves.

It's called marketing, that's what they do.
@azix don't waste your time understanding here when it comes to amd.

"Gaming Scientist" *is* a bit pretentious for a marketer, would you not agree? I personally dont like the way he presents a lot of his points, but I will grant you that is just my personal opinion (although shared by quite a few others I would bet), but come on "gaming scientist"? You have to be kidding me.

I still fail to see what people have against the way he says things. The only conclusion i see is that you just don't like that he says anything at all.

He's not a marketer. What he said he does

1. work with game developers to understand the tech they are building, why they are building it. Ensure that future GPU designs take into account what developers want

2. Explain some of amds choices, hurdles etc.

The label does fit. What does he research? What developers want, future of 3D graphics etc. He has a communication (link to developers and explaining AMDs tech) role that relies heavily on his specialty and background working at intel and nvidia. Sounded like you think he doesn't know hardware like a marketer might not.

I am very curious what you don't like specifically. What has he said wrong etc. The accent pisses you off?

I think he presents a very one sided and dubiously accurate view of tbe "facts", particularly some very questionable assertations about g-sync and gameworks that he has made in the past. Seems like if someone wants to be called a "scientist" they should present both sides of tbe argument, which obviously he is not going to do since he is paid by AMD. By the way, does nvidia or intel have a "gaming scientist"?

I work in research, and frankly, it offends me for a paid spokesman to be called a scientist. Obviously, you feel differently, and I dont think either of us is going to change his opinion, so I really dont think we should continue this argument.

Those claims were not false and scientists are far from unbiased. You don't suddenly become a machine just because people call you scientist. Its this idea that scientists are like that that leads a lot of people to blindly accept whatever foolishness anyone with that title says.

I dont expect an opinion change. I want to understand where this view comes from. Specific example, for example. He provides a lot of good information and explanation.

MTBS-TV: Interview With AMD at GDC 2015 type of interviews we should be wanting to see.

As far as his title and role, I see the importance of it. A technical person bridging the communication gap is very important.
