I can't believe people actually read forums dedicated to video cards or processors, that people get so worked up over brand biases, or that someone would take the amount of time that actually took to point it all out. Assuming it's all true, I'm not sure why I would give a shit.

I had to stop reading after I read the accusation on the first page that the mods here don't treat everyone equally and respectfully. Saw that, removed my monocle, and blurted out "I do say, good sir... I do say."

I dont necessarily agree or disagree with his message, but that does seem like an awful lot of work when its really just someone unhappy with a forum. Its better to just talk shit and then forget about it.

Well, with investigative reporting like that, it's no wonder he has so much time on his hands.

This thread totally deserves its place in the annals!
And the linked opus should remain linked, because with all that work put into writing that, he should be rewarded.

...now to reading what he actually wrote 😀

I'll respect whatever decision is made, but as an "administrator emeritus" (yeah I know that's not in my title, but I was an admin) I'll say that I never had cause to suspect there was intentional bias, nor was there to my knowledge pecuniary interest by anyone I knew. Esquared wouldn't have participated, and I mention him because he's named. Some of you knew me then and you know I wouldn't say this if I believed otherwise. Not one member ever had reason to question my veracity in my dealings with forum members, and you can take that to the bank. I'll stake that earned reputation on saying I don't buy the premise of this thread.

....wait...this is a tech forum?

yeah shocking. with all the down time, time warps etc.

Though there are some good posters here. Doing my last computer build i asked for and received a ton of great advice. Though i did stay out of the V-card forum. I find it hard to take it serous after the Rollo bullshit.

Thats when I quit reading AT product reviews.

lol same. Though i have to say there are some very knowledgeable posters here. I have gotten good advice on stuff from computers to advice on cars etc.

Yeah. Go over to HardForum where Kyle will ban you, tell you in email he doesn't know why he banned you, then never get reinstated again.

Well, its a tech forum. Assuming people come here for actual advice, it seems ridiculous and unhelpful there would be loads of nonsense in the forums.

This guy is accusing the mods of being the problem with excess nonsense, I think its just the angry fanboys (at least in the CPU forum).

I haven't read the whole thing, but I'm guessing he fails to take into account that threads like the ones I saw in the blog regularly get "Closed & Cleansed"? I don't follow those too closely, but most garbage posts in that blog will be removed at that point, and you won't see if infractions are issued for them given the posts are deleted.

EDIT:

Actually, I think he talks about it in the comments about the magically disappearing posts on the second stahlhart page... except he doesn't appear to realize why.

Sorry got bored on the 2nd or 3rd paragraph. Why am I supposed to care about this?

Dont ask us "why" you should care. Think for yourself.
Also if you get bored reading a website, I think maybe you should just go watch TV.

Use a webtop device for Netflix or HBO GO perhaps.

WITH A SUPERIOR INTEL CHIPSET!!!

you're not

its more fanboy bullshit. Don't like it? Don't post in the tech forums. I can't stand them now that they are so fanboyed out. You can't get an honest opinion without 14 fanboys jumping in.

Of course the mods are ON IT! Not really.

In an amusing twist of fate I’m actually writing this part of the article while serving a week-long ban served to me by Stahlhart

Lol.

We had that old saying:

VC&G is to General Hardware as P&N is to OT.

Still, as long as you aren't regularly thread crapping or being an ass, I don't think folks have to worry about the mods.

I also tend to cut them some slack, since they are volunteers and this is a private site.

This guy hits the nail on the head. The mods here are corrupt. DrPizza once said he'd give me an infraction unless I handled his apples.

The cider was delicious though.

....wait...this is a tech forum?

Allegedly, though I haven't gotten above "Consumer Electronics" in years.

"The Anandtech moderators are biased! It's a conspiracy! They're pro-AMD!" -nVidia Fanboys

"The Anandtech moderators are biased! It's a conspiracy! They're pro-nVidia!" -AMD Fanboys

Sour grapes.

And this thread may or may not be here later; we generally frown upon diverting traffic to other sites like this. -Admin DrPizza

OMG! Mods getting mod edited! This place is harsh.

Interesting that I've complained about one of those moderators in the mod discussion section, but the specific points listed in this "article" were nothing I had issues with.

Overall it sounds like this guy is just butt hurt. I think any reasonable person would come to this conclusion, and thus it may be in AT's best interest to leave the link 🙂

It helps that he highlights some of his own posts that are clearly badly worded and looks like attacking posts themselves.

From reading the article (at least the first few pages), it does appear that Stahlhart looks at the world through nvidia colored glasses. If a mod isn't going to be fair and equitable, get them the hell out of that position. It's quite obvious there was bias, whether it was towards brand name or specific users and it also looks like posts could have been manipulated.

Well Just read through the first couple of pages so far and while I think he is doing a little axe grinding I also think he is making some legitimate observations about at least one moderator. As just a casual observer and a very longtime member I noticed many of the very events he was citing in the first 3 pages of his piece and recall thinking them extremely questionable commentaries and actions for a moderator to take in those instances.

so a butthurt member who pissed of the mods (or gods, as we sometimes call them), writes an articles about how they're corrupt and biased against him?

color me shocked.
