Yes, this idea is at LEAST 7-10 years ahead of its time.

Exactly. This mentality is (barely) fine for a $300 laptop. It's asinine for one at this price point, in my opinion.

Just wait a year or so. It won't be $2000, and for those of us interested in the 13", I betcha it will be closer to $1400.

Yet we buy subsized $600+ phones every other year and nary a word about their upgrade ability or repairability.

Or $2000 TV's that eventually break down. Or high end receivers. ECU's in cars instead of easily worked on carb based systems. Ect.

It's actually a $2200 BD player, and it was worth every penny. OH MY GOD, what am I going to do that I can't replace anything in it!

It's an Apple pruduct so it's perfect out of the box. Why would you need to upgrade it anyways?

New more ram, cpu power, ssd space....Just wait for the new model or choose your config wisely from the getgo.
