Techpowerup editor-in-chief W1zzard (also the author of GPU-Z) has attempted to cook an omelet on his GTX480:

An egg needs to reach around 70c to properly thicken and cook. By that bar almost any modern video card could do it.

Edit: now I'm hungry.

you basically need a griddle of heatpipes. you can't fry anything on that shroud.

If you actually follow the links you see the following:
bonus pic for you guys .. i tried to make an omelette but the cooler wasnt hot enough

So this thread's title is a lie. They did not cook omlets, they tried, and it remained as raw eggs.

The problem with that egg is that the contact between spoon and heatsink is very weak, they probably touch each other in a very small surface area, so even if the heatsink had 100 C+ it would not make the omelet, because there isn't any heat transfer between the two. Now, if he would have packed the egg in an aluminium folio, omelet was probably done with no problem. :)

The thread and test was a stinking joke. If he was serious about cooking the egg he could have used aluminum foil or something that would have good heat transfer. He then may have ended up with only ashes left if he didn't keep his eye on it. :D
