technical questions in hardware forum

Well the whole purpose of forums are to help people with there computer problems. Wether it be hardware or software. Sometimes it is very difficult to determine which of these is the problem. Are you saying that if you go to the hardware forum and post a question about some problem and someone realizes it is really a software problem the thread should be locked down or deleted? or worse of all ignored?

huh? what does software and hardware have to do with anything? There is a TECHNICAL SUPPORT section for people looking for any kind of technical help (software OR hardware), and there is a HARDWARE section for people wanting to talk about the "latest and greatest technology". the only reason i have a problem with half the people in the hardware section seeking technical help is that 1. they can get better help in the tech section and 2. its a growing trend and defeats the entire purpose of having separate sections.

BUt you have to understand that the General Hardware Forum drives 6x more visiors than the Technical Support Forum, so people think they will get a quicker reply and more help by posting in the General Hardware Forum
