Day to Day (Apr 24 2008)

Work week wrapup. No major news outside of things I already posted here and elsewhere. People are out sick. Man there's been a lot of nasty bugs going around this year. I've been catching up on minor nagging items. Mostly cleaning up the lab - some recently donated servers are stuck waiting on fedora core 9 to be released as well as having no place to physically put the things to set them up. We have a lunch table in the center of the lab piled with random stuff so we're all eating lunch at our desks. Also worked on donation system upgrades. The IT people on campus are now allowing us to pass hidden user ids which will vastly increase my ability to match green stars to specific donators (we've been relying on people entering the right e-mail address on the donation form). Some updates to the boinc web interface broke a few pages - I fixed all that. Yeah.. lots of the usual day-to-day tasks.

The replica server (sidious) where we collect these stats got a day or two behind after the outage, and only caught up, I think, last night. So stats were being generated and pushed out, they just were stuck in the past for a bit.

Appart for Anandtech's stats, it shows how much more/less than Anandtech.
Also shows based on Average Work Done how many days for Anandtech to overtake the team, or be overtaken by a team behind...

User-stats not updated yet...

thanks for the stats RD!

looks like Team Art Bell is within our sights...at this pace we'll pass them in only, um, er, 6766 1/2 or so years...may we all live to see that day!

Thanks for the stats and the info, Rattledagger! 😀

At last a good update ... but lets crunch a little bit more, please!? 😉

stats n stones updated this morning for 4/25, but BAM! updated later today with the 4/24 + the 4/25 numbers that stats n stones had. either way, our output looks good, we just need to keep it up!

btw, dajeepster, you were at 105k using bam!'s numbers. good job!

You're right... I did >20% of our output.... you know what that means.... bryan, you need to pick up the slack, you SLACR you... you can get a couple for under $0.2k each 😉

yeah, I know, but there are several problems in the way of my purchasing more quads: 1. I'm trying to buy a business and need to save all my $$, 2. I just upgraded from an e6750 and an opteron 180 to an x3350 and a Q9450 for ~ $440. I should end up netting 6500-7000ppd extra out of that upgrade, plus my wife can use the file server twice as fast with a quad core 😉. 3. If I upgrade mom's email server then people will start to talk...but if I accidentally spill water on it...and it's cheaper to just get a quad than an e8500...then nobody would criticize for taking care of mom, right? RIGHT?? hold on, I need to go get some water...
