Mushroom grow in air tight dark barns.
Pre heat the barn to 55C with steam for 24 hours, and disinfect it with 50/50 formamide/water to kill all bacteria.
Straw - 70~75%
Manure - 20~25% (horse, cow, pig, and could supplemented with chicken manure, but you have to lower the amount)
Soil - 5% (optional)
After the mushroom beds are prepair, seed pellet is spread then use steam to bring the temperature to 28C (8in of the materials above layered as mushroom bed).
Hold steam temperature at 28C for 10~12 days for frist bach, then 2nd bach the next consecutive day then, the 3th/last bach should finish between the 15~17 day. (complete cycle usually take 20~30 days from prepair to cleanup)
If temperature flucturate +/-1C for an hour you will lose 10% of the crop, and so on (you will compleatly loses the entire crop if the temperature flucturate more than +/-4C for 3~4hours).
The reason for growing mushroom in the dark, is because the mushroom are white due to lack of light. And, if mushroom is grown in the light they will be brown.
Sorry for the rant, but my very frist job was a tech at a mushroom farm.
