I posted the following at the OS forums, Had no reply. Possibly wrong forum.

I have posted my printer install problem here.

Printer Port problem

I think it is caused by some settings in XP somehow related to TCP/IP security which prevents my printer install program from completing or from manually create a TCP/IP port for my network printer.

As some of you might already be aware that Nvida Network Access (NAM) creates all kinds of problems so I removed it. I just wonder if some settings were modified so my install program and myself cannot creat a TCP/IP port.

Based on JackMDS in the networking forum there is nothig wrong with my router and printer. I absolutely agreed. Jack thinks and I oginally agreed that may be there something wrong with my NF4 chispet and the HP driver. I just hope that that it is just some settings in XP which is hurting me.

If you can shed any light on why an TCP/IP printer port cannot be created and fix it, that will really help.

Thanks again,
