This is just to show Intel and AMD are two totally different company.

One is looking in the past while the other is looking into the future.

Industry wasn't wrong calling AMD the "follower"

If x86 is going where other ISA is going, SIMD is the future and AMD XP just proved that with the "new" SSE instruction. mind you intel is light years ahead of AMD with their SSE2 in P4

I think AMD is try to get as much as they can out of today's application with the K7 architecture.

we will see when Hammer comes out and application start to take adventage of the SSE2 instruction.

Looking back, I don't think AMD will offer anything exciting.
