All my home computers have Windows 8.1 via Technet, and now, I want to upgrade to Windows 10. Is that possible?

Do you know how? I don't see the Windows 10 update prompt under Windows update or the Windows store.

And when I tried to do a clean update and activate with my existing Windows 8.1 serial, I wasn't able to.

You can't do a clean install using the Windows 8.1 key. You have to install Windows 8.1, activate it, then upgrade to Windows 10. Once the Windows 10 upgrade install is fully activated via the Windows 10 activation servers, you can then do a clean Windows 10 install on that machine without installing Windows 8.1 first.

Using the 8.1 installation provided by TechNet, I was able to access Microsoft's download utility and get the ISO for Win 10 Pro. I used that to upgrade my computers from 7 and 8.1 to 10.
