Tech slowdown? What tech slowdown?

well samsung is a good company.. makes good products and has good service... no wonder they are making profit.. after all all those 955DF monitors had to go somewhere in the profits section.

The "tech slowdown" is due to the fact that when a tech company that isn't part of the S&P 500 does well, while companies that are part of the S&P 500 barely makes their guidance, it's seen as a slowdown as S&P 500 companies are part of numerous 401K funds. The same holds true for NASDAQ companies IMHO.

So, you are all saying I shouldn't have a hard time finding a WAN job where my knowledge (and focus) is on things like Lucent CBX500's, GX550's, and Nortel BSN5000's? I need a raise, but can the job be a little closer than it is now, and pay more, and have job security, and, and, and ...

No, I think not. I know too many people in the data communications industry (one of those tech sectors) that is doing pitifully.

about 6 or 7 years ago, samsung was a budget brand, kinda like apex, im suprised that it has established itself as a reputable electronics manufacturer in a very short time span, now samsung clicks in my mind as a quality brand along with the big boys such as sony and panasonic.

Samsung remind me of Hyundai, although they produce decent products, there is a stigma
of producing cheap and poor products attached to their company's name.

I only have one product (DVD) from Samsung, it is working just fine without any problems,
I'm sure eventually I'll have more of Samsung products in the future.
