did anyone else go to see this yet? I thought it fell short of being the next 'black hawk down', but I still thought that it was a good movie nonetheless. The ending battle was sweet too...any thoughts?

I read some negative and positive reviews about the movie. Is it true that Monica Belluci's character never gets dirty, has perfect hair and make-up? I find this hiralous since they are trudging through the wilderness and trying to escape the bad-guys.

The last battle was STUPID!!!!!
Ok, they had like 50 rebel solders attacking Willis and his men, and the only thing protecting them were thin trees (the size of baseball bats) and they never seem to get hit. Most of them get shot while they were running...
And did anyone catch the part where the rebels were shooting in the bush area close to the border? They were aiming high! wtf??
Oh yeah, what ever explosions you saw in the trailers with the jets flying by... that was pretty much it.
And the girls face was ALWAYS clean while her clothing was dirty.
I must admit though they did the middle small battle very well. I thought it had some emotional scenes, but after that, it wasn't that great. Black Hawk down was sooo much better.

I saw it last night. Overall I liked it but there were some really bad parts in it. Yes the main female character's makeup remained perfect throughout the movie until the end. Her character was also really cliche. She was hot though

I think that the end could have turned out a lot worse. They could have come out unscratched with no casualties, or only slightly wounded, etc. The thing that annoyed me more then the Dr's clean face was that girl's perfect teeth. We are to believe that she lives in poverty, but has insanely white and straight teeth...Plus, Bruce Willis, although the man, definately took too many hits towards the end...what was the final count? Three, four times? That was a bit much. Good movie overall though, very suspensefull.
What was burning me was the commander guy yelling in to a Satellite Phone the entire time on the deck of an aircraft carrier with jets screaming behind him. The CIC doesn't have Sat communications?

It was predictable and too contrived somehow. The cinematics I thought were well done and the acting was pretty good.

Could not suspend belief enough to enjoy it...Once Willis gets on that chopper he is a regular Joe Blow LT...his part is done, the Master Pilot is now in charge, the refugees would have never even been an issue.

Ok things that bug me:
Why do 90% of the snipers in all modern movies die? Snipers are badasses.
At the end the mother of the little girls has the WHITEST teeth I have ever seen in my life, it was like hmmm hmmm hmhmhmmmm *BLING* Ah the goggles, the do nothing!
The F-18s launched from the carrier with out any payload then were fully loaded out of nowhere for the attack.
If you're being shot from multiple enemies you don't stand up, form a line, and slowly walk to them while shooting.
Things I like:

One more thing, wtf is up with the PG movie previews for R movies. Both Old School and Tears of the Sun had a preview of Disney's up coming film HOLES which I might add looks like it will be right up there with Zoolander and Jeepers Creepers on the suck movie list.

They were allow 30minute to pack up and leave,, but instead 1:30hour was used tp pack up.
The people was SINGING along the WAY, come on SINGing?
Once they got on the Blackhawk that sould be it, considering he's 3 people short, he shouldn't be allow to turn back.
Once they started heading for the mountians, when they ask for more choopers, their request was denied, the AIR is too HOT? WTF
On their request they he said he can get all of them to the pickup point in 20 mintues, it was denied but where did they head to now?
Later on they Storm the camp during the ethnic cleansing, which is the best part of the movie.
now more than a day has pass since they last contact HQ, and there's a RAT, found a prince, Girl said he don't trust him..,, what's there not to trust? If she told him way back, she and the prince would be safe by now.
Bruse and the girl made up about the "trust part" and Bruce pretty much told her that he would of did the same thing" this is just a pick up line.
Pig appears, frist guy got shot, fires and rockets left and right. Instead of defening the girl, they ALL rush up front only to run back after a rocket kill most of the refusgee.
Some guy that might not be dead, was on top of the girl ( think it was the prince's guard, that save bruce awhile back) instead of slowly lifting him away, he was push and dump like nothing.
now first teamate gets kill, (the phrase no one gets left behind goes out the window)
tatataa, dadada, boom, boom, They were just kneeing down with almost no cover and enemys were just 10-20 feets away
2nd teamate throw away his M4a1 to what seem to be "hop on my back,, no??, ok I'll cover you with a pistol lets go" they got got kill
3rd teammate goes down while holding the line.
Radio dude ask for air support and 2 F-18 was sent.,, WTF, what happen to the AIR is hot, I guess the AIR just turn clear
Girls sceam nooo, noo,! so all this time she still there. another rocket almost hit her. lol
4th teammate gets kill runing cross the creak, now the enemy is 7 feet way and likes to run hold the AK47 and not fire, just like before
on to the tall grass area,, the enemy now move very slowly.
She and the prince reaches the gate, and yells out , I'm an American,, open the gate,, (lol,lol,lol, now she's afraid)
Bruce get's shot, radio man get's shot and they now all met up, 1 guy still running to meet them that was asume dead.
F-18 comes, all enemy goes bye, bye.
They all slowly walks to the gate, and girl comes to hel bruce, no one care about the other 3, so sad
The prince was left behind as they fly off. I can't seem to remember too well at this point as if the girl went with them or not.
Anyways,, Half of his team (navy seals?) got kill, they now have to go pick up their bodies. And this is all because of the girl doctor not telling them about the prince and was being a BItzh. The girl was clearly not more important than 4 navy seals. They should have just knot her out along with the father and 2 nuns and off they go, mission accomplish. Or if the girl said I'll go if you take the prince also..

This is a really bad movie.
i just saw this last night and it sucked balls, not worth the money. what bothered me the most is that:
1. the lead actress always had perfect lipstick and makeup
2. there is a nigerian woman who has perfect white teeth, better than you or me , while everyone else has nasty teeth.

While the merits of this movie can be debated on whether it was good or not.. The sound mix of the film is absolutely awesome. It really really uses the surround channels well. Probably the best sound mix since u-571.
