I have a 7800GTX512MB.
My temps GPU temps are 52C/80C with Arctic Silver 5 and stock heatsink and fan. I have recently begun experiencing lots of slight artifacting and occasionally severe tearing while playing BF2. I have installed different drivers. 81.98 to 83.90 to 81.98. All experience same problems. But since I went back to the 81.98 it seems i've lost some of my performance. Could my GDDR3 VRAM be overheating since tech support says my GPU temps are fine?
Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a test I ran.
On one core I ran an instance of DX9 Real-Time High-Dynamic Range Image-Based Lighting Version 1.2.
On the other core I ran an Instance of Prime 95.
I did this so the GPU and the CPU would be stressed 100% at the same time.
My GPU rose from 51C to 82C as expected.
My CPU temp rose from 40C to 48C
My Motherboard temp rose from 41C to 43C
I have an A8N SLI Premium. It appears that new heatpipe of theirs works great.
So going by these numbers, my circulation inside my case is fine.
Here are my complete system specs
A8N SLI Premium MB
AMD 4200X2 Dual Core Processor
EVGA 7800GTX512MB
Creative X-Fi Fatality Sound Card
NEC 8550 DVD Burner/Dual Layer
(2)120MM Case Fans
1 intake in front of case - 1 outake in back of case
(1)80MM side intake fan
Zalman CNPS9500 LED CPU Cooler
Blows directly at the rear outake fan
Antec Smartpower 2.0 500Watt PSU with two 80MM intake and exhaust fans
I have a Zalman Fatality GPU Cooler with ramsinks which was installed on my 7800GTX256MB card before I stepped up to the 512MB
I am toying with the idea of slapping that sucker on with ramsinks and seeing what my temps and artifacting/tearing situation is.
I would be interesting if I got better peformance with it since I have heard so much about how good the stock GPU cooling system is.
What do ya'll think?
