Unions are not interested in their image, they are interested in the dollars in their pockets.

Luckily for unions their intentions are not to win your sympathy, it's to piss you off so much that you will give them money to go away. And they're doing a dang good job of it.

They're striking after rejecting an offer of 9% raises?? What the fuck do these people think they're entitled to?

This is one event you do not pull this shit at. If that was my family member or child being laid to rest, they'd be looking down the barrel of a firearm if they didn't leave. At some point, when you choose to be uncivil, you get exactly what you deserve in return.

Fucking Union assholes.

Ok you got one side of the dispute. Here is the other....

A spokesman for the Teamsters, Brian Rainville, said the accusations were without merit.

"They’re feeling the pain from business going down and they’re making false allegations," he said. "The court didn’t make any indication that these allegations were true -- the court basically did nothing but say ‘obey the law,’ which is what we’re doing."

You have allegations, you accepted those allegations at face value because they conform to your worldview. You know video is ubiquitous, if any of these allegations had merit, why is there no video to back it up?

Sorry but people don't choose funeral homes because the union is striking. I doubt this strike has impacted business in any way and it's obvious they are on the premise striking there. They need to move - period.

That's just plain disgusting. That is a very emotional and stressful time for anyone, when they've lost a love one and are saying their last goodbyes. WTF is wrong with these union thugs? No better than the westborough idiots.

Yeah, we know unions are always polite and never ever call anyone bad names or use bad words when they're on strike....

Scumbags. I'm not anti-union under all circumstances since I know that companies will shamelessly fuck their workers over without a second thought but the Teamsters are no better than the mob.

The real point is, unions have a history of violence and intimidation during labor disputes, such that if a group is going to make claims seeking court assistance, the chances of the allegations being true are vastly greater than the chances they are false.

And as for gummy-Joe in our youtube video, the teamsters is not going to have an official plan of intimidation techniques used documented for a union phone operator can compare claims to. Whatever actions are made are done by the individuals, not official teamsters certified actions.

The mere fact that we could accuse these people of this horrible thing shows just how awful they really are.

I somehow don't think a judge or court would issue a restraining order without merit.

http://www.prnewswire.com/news-rele...st-teamsters-local-727-granted-216917101.html

he Appellate Court of Illinois, First Judicial District, granted a temporary restraining order against the Teamsters Local 727 and its leadership on Wednesday. The order calls for picketers to "refrain from conveying any actual or veiled threats against any person, also, refrain from obstructing, hindering, impeding or blocking any person's entry to or exit from any funeral site or any facility containing a funeral site."The ruling comes after a complaint filed by SCI Illinois Services, Inc. asked for a temporary restraining order as well as preliminary and permanent injunctions after repeated incidents of gross insensitivity and harassment directed at grieving families by Teamsters' picketers outside of funeral homes affected by the union's current strike against the company.

"We are grateful that the court agreed to issue this temporary restraining order, and we are hopeful that it will help protect grieving families who are experiencing the most difficult times of their lives," said Larry Michael, managing director for SCI Illinois Services, Inc. "While we recognize and respect the Teamsters' right to lawfully picket, we have been shocked and saddened by their attempts to make grieving families the target of the cruel and outrageous attacks."

Some incidents cited in the complaint include:

  • During the service of a young child who had passed away from cancer, picketers laughed, smiled and joked as they created a disturbance within the immediate vicinity of the only public entrance to the funeral home. They were asked to move by a police officer who had been called – then moved back immediately in front of the building and its entrance after the officer left.
  • While escorting a woman and her father who were attempting to plan her recently deceased mother's funeral, an employee escorting them was taunted and called names, the three of them were taunted with a bullhorn and siren sound, and intimidated by an unleashed German Shepherd.
  • Picketers used a bullhorn to shout profane and sexually explicit taunts while a woman and her four- and five-year-old sons attempted to make arrangements for her grandmother's funeral causing the family to become visibly upset.
  • A group of picketers temporarily blocked a grieving widow's vehicle as she tried to exit the parking lot.
  • Picketers repeatedly used the siren function on a bull horn, compressed air horns, car horns and car alarms to create loud disturbances during arrangements and services.
  • Picketers threatened to blow up the house of a retired sheriff's officer hired to work private security at the funeral home.
"Although we regretted the necessity of asking the court to intervene in this matter, we felt it was imperative due to the repeated incidents of gross insensitivity, harassment and profane comments directed toward grieving families, as well as threats of violence by Teamsters representatives participating in these picketing efforts," said Michael.
The court has scheduled a hearing on the company's request for a permanent injunction on August 2nd.

Wow.... Just wow...

“The Teamsters cannot thank those families enough who’ve stood alongside workers,” Coli said

Yeah, they "support" you huh.....

The company testified in its filing that union members blocked grieving family members from leaving its parking lot, used bullhorns to shout obscenities at workers and mourners, and unleashed a German Shepard on a dead woman’s daughter and husband.

The funeral home was eventually forced to call the police when picketers allegedly disrupted a child’s funeral with laughter. The officer asked the Teamsters to leave, but protesters returned when he drove away.

“We will be here for the visitation; we will be here for your funeral,” Teamster driver Lester Plewa allegedly shouted into a bullhorn as a funeral director met with a dying man planning his arrangements with family members.

That isn't support, those are grieving people who have been successfully threatened to take their business elsewhere.
