The clean up started when the Teamsters elected President James Hoffa. He's doing the right thing ... except endorsing Kerry for President of coarse :)

Rumore did not show up at a July hearing on the charges, says a four-page memorandum by the hearing committee, and Teamsters President James Hoffa sent him a subsequent letter upholding the charges and removing him from the union.

Well, I'm not so sure about the Hoffa thing but they sort of HAD to clean it up due to being beat down by the gov't because of their corruption. Still plenty of clean-up work to do.

Well we had a guy named ( of all things ) Ron " Carey " who brought reproach and dishonor and nearly bankrupted the IBT as well as being a left wing crook. No Hoffa is not perfect but he's doing allot of good work cleaning up this union and yes it is under the watch of Gov't.

Well, I'll give you that he's a "not as bad" ;) But IMO you give him too much credit. He really doesn't have a choice in the matter. The obvious ones have to be dealt with because of the scrutiny...this was one such case.
