So TF2 is financed entirely by micropayments. That's stupid, because they locked my account for a month because I spent too much money according to them. They refused to unlock my account unless I provided, via email, a sh!t-ton of banking information. By bank even tried contacting them to tell them to STFU, but was unable to locate an actual person at Valve. They have no idea what they are doing IMHO.

Or does it mean TF 3 is right around the corner?

And does it mean the game will now be flooded with morans?

It means Valve makes more money off micro transactions than they do on the initial sales. By releasing the game for free, they increase the player base and sell more hats and stuff.

I don't think this will have any negative flipside, TF2 is newb-friendly.
