I have just submitted TeamAnandtech.com to Google for addition to their Teams listing for DC projects.

Maybe now would be the perfect time to think about updating the site, and adding new project listings, as well as putting up more regular news updates.

I for one am not very good at web design, however, I shall volunteer for overlooking content, and coming up with weekly/monthly reports, should we want to. I also think that the Team AnandTech Newsletter should be re-instated :) A very good way to keep people updated on the latest DC news, and the progress of the Team in all projects :) Of course, this volunteering will only go ahead if you guys (and gals) feel that you want to let thy Confused one do it ;)

Come on guys, give your input, and we can hopefully make TeamAnandTech.com a site we can use once again as our up-to-date front end :)

A question that a TA.com admin can answer:

Is the webserver capable of running script pages, like asp or php?
If they are used in the design properly, then updating or restyling the site would be much easier.

Are there any ideas for content?
I've found a set of .asp scripts in which FAQs can be administered.
Am trying to purchase the set for the intranet at work. If I can get it there, we can use it for the website also.
To me it looks quite professional and most important, it is almost fully customizable.

I've seen some scripts for complete newsletter management also, but will have to look if I can find the one I thought was the most usable.

If we can come up with a list of items we want on the website, then we can start building the layout of the website.

Let's start with all those ideas, I know are circulating amongst TA-members.

The site uses IIS, so by extension, it uses ASPs. We in turn use #INCLUDE Virtual commands to have the site design wrap around the content, so chaning the design shouldn't cause many, if any issues.

Thx Virge, just what I wanted to hear. :D

Am fiddling around with a new FAQ-management application. Am trying to restyle the original provided layout to one that suits my needs.
For now, it looks promising. Almost everything is customizable.

Here you can find my work in progress. A lot is to be done, but am on the right track. The table border is just for correctional purposes, when done it will be removed. :)
This is the original downloaded version. Looks good also, but not entirely my style.
With these two examples, you can see it is fully customizable. :D:p

To me, it looks as if the free version has enough possibilities for TA-purposes. Even a 4-level authority system for guests, members, editors and admins.

If we can incorporate such a management application for all FAQs, then we can have one style for all and won't have to build up everything up for every new FAQ we make.

Anymore ideas for the TA-website?

Come on guys, a little bit of enthusiasm here. ;):sun:

Well, if I can help in anyway, I would love to. Like writing stuff, cant code Im afraid.

What I would love to see is basicly news, articles, some site stats ;) and a newsletter every month or so. If can help writing any of these I would love to do it.

I think we can find a few members that have hands-on experience of building and maintaining a website.
There are enough TA-ers that have nice websites for themselves.

Let's have some more ideas. We're on the way.
Thx Mardeth.

That looks like an interesting application, Peter. It would be quite convenient for each project "leader" (and maybe a few others, as necessary) to be able to upload and edit their own FAQs; this would likely cause site updates to the FAQ section to come more quickly and in more quality than have been possible before.

<-- has enthusiasm. :D

:D

Soon I'll have a meeting with some people here, that want to make our intranet more interactive and usefull to employees.
One of the things I want to propose is to buy the FAQ scripts. ;)

If I can buy it, we will have it available for the Team also. :p

I'm willing to help out on the United Devices project..
writing FAQ's, news and supplying the members with all-they-ever-need stats..:)

Although I need someone to correct my writings when I do..
As you can see from the linky in my sig, I'm not a good webdesigner, only some experience with php and databases..

Thanks Confused for bringing this to our attention!
