right now I have around 3000 jobs accepted out of the 13000 that I have done. Does anyone know if it is becuase my computer is too slow. I am running a p3 1ghz right now, and I don't see the point in running something where less than 25% of my cpu power that is being used for this project is being accepted.

and for SlangNRox, I think that the difference in jobs accepted vs completed has to do with the way the chess program thinks. After the opponent moves, it sends out lots of possible scenarios to the computers on the project, and then it depends on whether your computer sent back a scenario that was actually used in the next move. tryin to remember something I read several weeks ago when browsing their forums.

Hi SlangNRox.
Do you run your PC all the time and is your internet connection always on?

My pc isn't always on, but I try to keep it on all the time. I have a constant internet connection. I was concerned when I saw so many jobs not being accepted when I was running chess brain by itself. I can understand when running it with lifemapper which was set to run at normal priority. I was just wondering if it was due to the speed of my cpu or if that was a standard % of jobs accepted. Heres a link to my stats

Slang, I use a P3 700 and I have a higher percentage of jobs accepted. However, it isn't just your processor speed that matters, it's also how long it takes to respond to the supernode. try pinging node01.chessbrain.net and see what your times are.

Another thing is that each position is sent out to multiple computers to check answers. It used to be up to 16 different computers, however they reduced this, but I don't know the number. You could be unlucky and getting positions that are were also sent to faster computers.

are you running the gui or the commandline client? Try running the commandline client and the first position sent will be the "benchmark" position. How long does that take to complete?
