Well guys, heres the thing...

I just got back home from Vegas today, and after going there, I am quite excited 😀. Comdex was awesome! And now that i found out about Comdex/Chicago in April 2001, i have a plan 🙂. I case you don't know, i live less than and hour and a half from Chicago. I was talking to some of the guys in the IRC channel, and I brought up the idea of having a Team AnandTech exhibit at comdex. Of course it would be a SMALL and as cheap as possible deal, but it could still help 🙂. Please tel lme what you think. I am open to criticism 😉. Think it would be possible tho?

I'm only 4 hours north of Chicago, and I plan on going! Osmo is nearby too.. he may want to go as well.
 
I WOULD go, if it was in Las Vegas or in Seattle 🙂

Las Vegas, next year, in November, me and my parents would go on a vacation, and I would be able to go to this thing, and I would even be able to contribute a few hundred bucks for the booth!

Surely I will have to make u...er determine that a trip to Chicago is required for business purposes at that time. 😉😉
 
Hmmmm, I wonder if dennilfloss can get cheap air fare to Chicago. Maybe we can have him do an asslamination seminar for TA members.

Maybe us Central Iowans can get a van for the trip.

It's a great idea, but how much is floorspace going to cost us? Last I've heard, even Comdex Chicogo was pretty expensive per sq ft.:Q
 
I'm less than 1 1/2 hours from Chicago, and my boss should be paying for my admission and travel to Comdex if all goes as planned.
 
uh, i am in chicago. i would be more than willing to offer all my free time that i have available to help you out. if you guys need anything, car rentals, hotel rooms (no plane fares because i know that you guys can get that on your own). i'm sure we can set up a lan party or two as well...LOL my email is in my sig. my aim name is biggienickgmp. i'm on all the time. so...let's say i'm voluteering. i wanna man the booth too.
 
Cow costumes, eh? Well, I wouldn't want to cramp my style like that. Maybe a spotted suite coat at the most 😛.

Anyway, i think we could get the money to do it 🙂. And we would have plenty of people to be at the booth and stuff. Another good thing about that is we would be able to take turns and still hit the rest of the floor. mmmm, LAN party sounds nice too 😀. Keep up the good ideas, guys.
 
hehe, i guess the idea wasn't that bad 😉.

I'm definitely going to make this happen 🙂. I'l pick a few people to help me lead the way, then its up to AS MANY TA MEMBERS as possible to make this happen. We will obviously needs funds, ideas, hardware, display stuff, and much more. Even tho this is true, i still think this could be a great experience 🙂. April is going to come pretty fast. I am going to email the Comdex exhibits dpt just to try and get an idea about pricing, space available, and stuff like that.
 
I grew up in Chicago and frequently go back there. I'd be up to making a trip to "see the family". I hope the pricing isn't too much. 🙂
 
Optopman, where do you live now? If you can make it to Chicago, I'm sure we can figure out the rest for you. I am planning on having enough hotel room and stuff like that...

Also, once i register, I can get any TA members a free pass. Just have money for food and stuff like that 🙂.
 
SAK keep me posted. I would love to go.... Let us know what the costs and that sort of thing is.

TheyCallMeSAK - I live just outside of Boston. I already have a place to stay in Chicago, have lots of family there. It would be great if I could get a free ticket and I would be willing to help you guys out with anything, except for money which is kind of short right now.
