Shameless bump for my new pics in the gallery 😉

I'll post my mug tomorrow when there's some more light in my room. My digital camera doesn't handle low light well at all, and the flash sucks (well, most flashes do, because the only thing that would please me is what I don't have - a high powered flash such as the Canon 550EX or Nikon SB-800 - is that their latest one? - on a stroboframe with a mini-softbox). 😛

Sorry guys (Jliechty) a sata drive bit the dust and i am writing this from my kids room

I am trying to keep it up and running long enough to back up 55 gigs worth of web files

I have about half of the files copied but tired of the errors so I am going to format and run on 1 drive for now till i get a replacement.

Its been a rather busy day, brakes went out on my car ...Thankfully we made it home.
Parts came in but they were the wrong parts.

Plus bill day (some to finish tommorow as well as an oil change on the wifes car)

I will be on tommorow evening if everything goes right

Sorry to hear about your day, Wolf. I can understand your not being able to be around much, so take as much time as necessary to get things in order before you worry about stopping by your chatroom. I'm not terribly impatient. 😉

An update:

I had come home to another blue screen...45 minutes of wiggling wires and it came back up.
I kept trying to get on the internet and it would crash.Said that there was no raid array.

I finally got half of my stuff off the array before it errored out.chkdsk found unrecoverable errors
repeatedly.I finally got it working again and ran a hdd utility that clerared the drives as healthy and no errors.

But any attempt to use the computer caused stutters and drive errors.

I decided to try the promise raid controller built in rather than the intel one and I rebuilt the array

There is no errors now and it passed the drive tools tests.But to make sure I wrote zero's across the entire array before performing a full format and reloading windows.

the system seems to be faster now (but that could be from running into so many errors lately lol) and it is running smoothly.

I have to reload the back ups but I should be on more soon

Sounds a little like a prob I had at work. Raid only protects from certain things, and can actually spread software glitches to both drives. I couldn't get either drive to boot even though both tested good with diag test....................anyway good luck.

I do check in at Reddeye occasionally, but I guess with the time diff I'm usually the only one around. 😀

Plus I have been on the road a lot or doing family stuff when I'm here, so my participation lately has been minimal..............mostly just stickin' my head in the door so to speak......... 😀

I have the exact problem with no glitches found in software but i am getting the click of death from at least one drive
it keeps dropping the controller and i have now tried both.

I won't be on much untill i can get it fixed.looks like 2 weeks before i can send the hdd's and mobo off for replacement

I was too lazy to make thumbnails at the time. Sorry. :roll:

Those pics were taken in 2002, when I was ~92lbs heavier and 4 pant sizes larger than I am now. 😱

I'll have to post a more recent pic of me when I get a chance. 🙂

I too have gained weight but am walking and exercising trying to lose it 😛
