Valve is offering a free weekend of Team Fortress 2. It's a team based first person shooter that offers a class for just about anyones play style. It's a very casual game, so it's easy to pick up for a first time player. With that said, it's also very tactical in it's own way, and every class serves a purpose, ensuring that you'll always find something to enjoy.

Valve today announced a set of new releases for Team Fortress 2, the title named Multiplayer Game of the Year by PC Gamer and Gamespy.com. The main event of the week is the Pyro Update, which was made available this Thursday and contains three unlockable new weapons for the Pyro plus 35 new achievements. In addition, two user-created maps are included to highlight the great work being done in the community and distribute those works to all TF2 players..

ok I installed steam, DL the game, and it saying Preloaded....I double click that and it takes me to the purchase page......how start is so I can get to try this for free?

I played TFC religiously (15+ hours a week up until a month ago since 2000). I just can't get into TF2. Everything is so different and I am too lazy to put in the time again to get good . May check it out if I'm bored though.

I love it - it's much more balanced than TFC and faster paced.

Can you explain why you think the game is unbalanced? After playing BF2, CS:S, and various mods for CS, I have found TF2 to be the most balanced of them all. Every class has a counter-class, and many of the maps are symmetrical.

I haven't actually played it in quite a while because my internet is a haven for latency, but last time I played it was great.
