Left 4 Dead at 25 bucks is still a better deal.
However, I will say that if you didnt get to try this during the free weekend you should probably just go ahead and get it. At $9.99 you really cant go wrong.

L4D is wicked for short periods of time however I could never spend the amount of time on L4D that I have on CS:S or TF:2. In its current form it just doesn't have the replay value.

CS:S and TF:2 have so much replay ability its insane. You want to weather the global economic meltdown? Pay 9.99 for tf2 and lift your head up in 4 years to a different world :)

I've spent maybe 100 hours on L4D, and 300 in TF2. 1/3 of the way there and it's far from getting old.

Now I see what everyone was talking about wrt Steam's deals; I purchased L4D on sale, and now TF2.

Team Fortress 2 has practically infinite replayability and there are an infinite number of maps and many different classes to play and master. Obviously there is a learning curve cus of all the different classes and maps but read up on the Wiki and it should give you some basic strategy for the different classes. After playing since it came out I finally got into being a Spy. Very difficult class to master effectively but so fun to be sneaky and they release new content every couple months for free which is awesome. Even if you don't own a super powerful PC, you should pick it up and it's so much better to play on the PC cus of all the maps and extra free content that the consoles don't have.
