I was just looking at the stats, and I see we are in danger of being passed by a number of teams. We are being out produced by several teams at the moment and our lead is slipping.

We show 153 members, however, I see that only 47 ppl have contributed work units this week. Where are you ?? Have you moved to another project , lost interest or what.

Team AT made great strides in the last 6 months coming from a rank of 180 something to our current 19th position. Lets don't let this slip away.

We need your cycles......turn those machines back on. we need to stop this slide.

BlackCat I know you moved, and had some probs with your comp in the process, but it's time to crank it up again, Mopman ?? turn a couple of those 1800XP loose on the proteins again......

The dual XP1800+ I had folding has gone belly up. I believe the motherboard is the culprit as I've tried two different sets of RAM and the same random lockups/no boots occur.

🙁

Interesting Conjur, I have the same problem on both a Tiger and an A7M-D. Both are fairly new. What gives with the 760mp/mpx?

Oh, I am still folding, just not as avidly.

sorry to hear of the hardware trouble...glad you are still with it Kris, you were really racking the WUs up for a while there.

hope you get your rigs going again.

Is it an XP not Mp compatability issue? L5 closed manually? I would like to know i am thinking of upgrading to these with my mpx..

<- has Tiger MP and A7M266-D.

Some quick thoughts:

1) Does the machine refuse to start immediately after shutdown? Caused by PSU overheating -> Get bigger PSU.
2) If you have Tiger MP or the Gigabyte MPX, you *must* use registered DIMMS. Other MPX boards are more forgiving, but don't place too much trust in the manuals '2 unreg dimms are ok' statement. I use two normal Apacers in my Asus tho.
3) Run memtest86 on the RAM.
4) Run memtest86 on the RAM.
5) Run memtest86 on the RAM.
6) My XP's came unlocked, but the Durons were SMP-locked. I connected the bridges and no issues. After 2 & 6 months of operation. Did yours work initially, or was the thing always unstable?

Hey! I resemble that remark! 😱 My PII-400 just seemed too slow. Is it still?

P.S. It's running ECCp at the moment, and it has been doing SETI, since one PII-400 is 2/3 of one Athlon 800.😕

Postman, thanks for your thoughts.

I believe the PS's are adequate, I think I splurged on both knowing the 760 might be problematic.

I will check the lock status of both sets of cpu's.

I don't know how to tell for certain if the ram is registered. Both sticks are ecc. I will try to look up the chip id's.

What kinds of temps are bad here? I think the asusprobe was reporting about 60c for the cpu's and high 40's case.

I will locate and run memtest86.

The asus definately worked initially. The I don't have enough uptime with the tiger to say yet. It worked all day today.

Thanks, I will report back later.

I too had noticed that the number of CPUs crunching for us had gone down quite drastically - from around 170 to just 116 currently. 🙁

I can vouch for one or two that I'd switched to the ECCp project, but I've always kept 3 key system going for the F@H team. I'll see if I can swing a couple more. 🙂

I was doing Folding for a while, But I had changed back to RC5 till the end.
I will either go back to Folding or SETI. I haven't decided yet.

Don't worry, I still check the stats once and a while. 🙂

Son of a....

Got back into work this morning and noticed I forgot to restart F@H before I left Friday evening. That's two processors not running for me over the weekend 🙁.

I've moved all of my stuff back to SETI - I picked the score of 2500 as a good stopping point for me. 😉

There is still a 1.7 GHz P4 out there that runs it occasionally, so there may still be some production coming in from that periodically.
