Team AnandTech VS Dslr Team Starfire Final Race Report
The data I have posted was taken around 6:00 AM CST on February 28, 2002. The race officially ends at 1:00 PM CST on February 28, 2002. This report encompasses all results between 1:00 PM CST on January 1, 2002 and now. I will take a simultaneous reading at 1:00 PM CST today and update this file. The file is over 2 MB so it will take a while to download on a 56K connection.
You should be able to copy/paste/import this data into an excel spreadsheet. That would give you the opportunity to sort and fiddle with the data all you want. The "handicap" cannot be accurately computed with this data. Let me give you two examples:
______________________________
TeAm Smokeball is shown as NEW with 15,497 WUs and is also shown as GONE with 9,950 WUs.
The net result of TeAm Smokeball changing its name from Smokeball results in 5,547 WUs counting toward the RACE which is accurately accounted for. Therefore, name changes are all handled in the same manner and do not effect the "handicap" in any way.
______________________________
The_One is shown as NEW with 50,492 WUs.
The data does not show that The_One returned to the TeAm on January 10th, 2002 with 49,351 WUs. That is the amount that should be used to calculate that The_One has contributed 1,141 WUs to the RACE.
______________________________
It took me quite some time to get the details, by accessing Soni's Database and my own, to accurately account for the Net Race Production for The_One . I am not about to go through the entire TeAm and figure out all of that kind of stuff for each NEW and/or GONE member. And in addition, I would have no way to learn such information about Dslr Starfire. Pardon my bluntness, but I knew this was going to be a horror story to keep up with from the getgo and is one of the reasons I backed away from doing the stat work for this race. Too dasm complicated.
The total WUs done since 1:00 PM CST, January 1st, 2002 counting everything (no adjustment for any handicap) are as follows:
As of 6:00 AM CST, February 28, 2002
+504,414 Team AnandTech
+302,927 Dslr Team Starfire
In summary, (which is all you were looking for anyway ... wasn't it?)
, (1) We did not get overtaken by Dslr Team Starfire and (2) We did not lose this race which were the two goals Dslr had in mind. They were looking to kick the snot out of us and then rub our noses in it. I told them during the 1st race that they had aroused a sleeping giant. They arrogantly replied that we would all see who the sleeping giant really is at the end of the race ... well, well, ..., WHOSE YOUR DADDY!
I am proud to be a member of this team! I am proud of each and everyone of you! Team AnandTech Rocks!
