Started a new thread as the old one was large and potentially hard to read by all....

Thanks to all who have joined and a warm welcome as well...but we need more....

DSLR has their big producer back (about the power of 700 PC's or so)...and he's helping them pull away. Can the AnandTech faithful...with all the members...and all the PC's let this happen.....

I hope not! :Q Please Join..

Race stats.....click me!

***Notice to all those who have joined and are using the CLI and SETIDriver....Please make sure to add the shortcut to the STARTUP folder to insure that it will RESTART if your PC is restarted**

Previous thread info...

Hello all.....

It's that time again....we have been challenged to a new race with DSL Team Starfire...

The last race was a great growing experience for both teams but was ended just short of completion because of the sad day of September 11th.

Since then though, team DSL Starfire has outgrown and outproduced us considerably.....now it's our turn!!! :Q:Q:Q

A new race has started and we need your support.....all it takes is a few extra cpu cycles...just a few. The clients use spare CPU cycles in the search for signals and other signs from space for intelligent life or anomolies. They are easy to use, have little (mostly NO) impact on your system (even in benchmarks) and also help science too :)

Come on over to the DC forum and see what TeAm AnandTech is all about...you'll be glad you did!!! :D

Race Rules thread! :)

Race Start Thread (with stats links)

What team DSL Team Starfire thinks of AnandTech! :Q

TeAm Welcome thread with client information and setup links :)

Come on guys...put that new PC to work....support this great site and a great TeAm...

Team AnandTech needs your help.......please answer the call and defeat the DSL team...you'll be glad you did! :D

Team AnandTech Strikes back! :Q Buwhahahaha!

All of you GH people who have the latest and greatest setups, XP 2000+'s, P4 2.2's, etc... you should get seti up and running on your machine(s) and put us other crunchers to shame! I personally have approximately 3Ghz of collective crunching power...I know many of you could out produce me easily. Consider it a challenge.
Even if you dont have the latest and greatest, you should STILL join up. You KNOW we are better, more resourceful, and better 'endowed' than dslreports.com's members, this is the time to prove it!

Ok people, this is it - we just passed IBM today and Microsoft and Intel are in our sights.

This is more than an attempt to get new members for the race against DSL Reports - We need to BEAT Microsoft and Intel too!!!

Please join up TeAm Anandtech Seti and help us in the DSLR race and help us blow the doors off of Microsoft and Intel!!!

I just wanted to remind everyone to use the command line version of SETI. It is approximately twice as fast at finishing WUs as the GUI version. I finish one in about 4hrs 20mins. It was more like 10-11 with the GUI. Ouch.

Ok I'm all for Team AT winning against DSLR!!!!

But the daily threads in the WRONG forum are starting to get annouying. Get NSF4 or Matt or Anand to link from the front page (www.anandtech.com) to a thread in the Distributed Computing forum or something.

Good Luck in your race!

But the daily threads in the WRONG forum are starting to get annouying.

Ignore them then;) ,
seriously though ,the non DC forums are where we get the new members from.

Get NSF4 or Matt or Anand to link from the front page (www.anandtech.com) to a thread in the Distributed Computing forum or something.

Nice idea:) ,but it took about 6 months just to get the link to TA back ,I think the chances of getting another link are very slim.

Good Luck in your race!
Thanks:) ,now are you helping us?

DSLR main producer dumped about 350 PC's worth of SETI today....one man....one man....are you going to let one man beat AnandTech Pride?

Yes, they have 400 more members than TeAm AnandTech..but consider that they have 55,000+ forum members vs 80,000+ for AnandTech......please take a look and join. Thanks for your support....you'll be glad you did! :)

There is so much information we all get from these forums. Anandtech has given us a home for finding out from others how to overclock, how to network, or what the latest hardware is and how well does it run. There aren't many ways we can give back. One is to subscribe and click the advertising links and another is to join the TeAm!

Thats right by rising up in the world ranks and beating the IBM's (which we just did) and the Microsofts and Intels (which we will do soon) we bring attention to Anandtech.com. People become interested in finding out who is this TeAm Anandtech that is beating teams from corporate America? They click and they check it out helping Anandtech to grow more.

What do you get out of it? Well you get a team of knowledgeable people who are willing to bend over backwards to help you find solutions to problems. You get the fun of competition that drives you to want to eek out that last MHz from your machine. Most of all though you gain friends who almost seem like family because you have worked and sweated towards a goal.

We have set a goal. A goal to become the number one Seti Team in the World. Are there teams with more members? Yes. Are there teams that are more knowledgeable and determined? NO You see all we lack to get to our goal is YOU! We need more members. You don't have to have 100 computers. You're one machine can make a difference. It is the combined power of people that makes distributed computing more powerful than the biggest supercomputer!

So please if you feel you have gotten anything out of the Anandtech forums or if you feel that you would like to be a part of reaching our goal, the join the TeAm! :D
