Attention: Internet Explorer 6.0 Users
There is a display problem when using IE 6.0. My reports are created using MS Office XP software and, when viewing the web pages generated by MS Excel 2002 and Front Page 2002 with Internet Explorer 6.0, some rows completely disappear and other rows have their borders distorted. There is a FIX ? Wait for the pages to completely download and then hit F5 to Refresh and the reports will appear properly. Thank you, Bill Gates. 🙂

I just got a PM from networkman asking me why some of the numbers of the teams below us (in the Top 25 Team Analysis) seemed screwy. He didn't actually say "screwy", he's too nice to say it exactly that way, but that is what I would call them. 🙂

I just responded to him as follows:

Thank you for looking at that report more carefully than anyone else, including me.

I was trying to get a little too fancy and committed an error of logic. I remembered when I created that analysis the forumula didn't work when the team was below us as it did when it was above. I made a hasty adjustment and it looked about right and I let it go. I didn't examine the results closely enough to see that I had an error in the computation.

It is sort of [a] silly thing anyway. For a number to mean anything for a team below us and with a moving average smaller than ours, you would have to make an assumption that we would quit producing any WUs at all. That is ridiculous. I do have the forumula now fixed so that if and when a team below us has an average greater than ours the number that will appear will be the days until they catch us. If they are below us and have smaller averages then the number is not applicable (N/A).

Thank you for pointing out this error.

Sort of makes me wonder if anyone is really studying the numbers. But then most folks would only be interested in when we are going to catch the teams ahead ... right? 😉
