Teach me to iron!

I just got an iron and ironing board, and I tried to iron a dress shirt I need for next week, and it still looks wrinkled! How should I be going about this? I really have no idea what I'm doing here. 😱 I filled it up with water, and pressed the steam button once in a while, but I must be doing this wrong because the shirt is just as bad if not worse than before. 😱

try to flatten out the shirt as much as you can before you do the iron. do the back, then the front (one side at a time), then the front left arm, then back left arm, then front right arm, then back right arm, then collar (both sides)

Ok, thanks, that's what I was looking for, just some kind of process for it all.

What is the steam button in this thing for, the really bad spots or should I use it for every stroke or what?

don't worry about the steam button, just make sure the iron is full of water. iron as slow as you can without burning. you will know it will start to burn before it actually burns
