Teach me how to overclock my 5820k please

Hi All,
I was pretty spoiled b y 3820 and rampage iv extreme a while ago. In that system all I need to do is tweak the multiplier in order to overclock. Now, however after getting my new rig 5820k + rampage v extreme that option is not available. Can anyone give me a stable setting for 4.0~4.2 ghz? I don't want to fry my chip, I've done that before.

Damn your lucky wish some one would spoil me with a 5820K LOL, But really maybe you should update your bios to unlock the option to change your multi's.I wouldnt be messing around with changing FSB ON x99 your likely to kill your very expensive Mobo specially on an early stock bios.

I left everything on auto and used MCE on my 5930K for 3.7Ghz at 1.10v or so r lower below 1v depending on core load. You should hit 4Ghz at under 1.2v unless its a poor chip. Don't use Prime95 to test, use something like Asus's RealBench:
