The videos are some type of flash, I believe.

What is there native format? Are they .swf or .flv or something else?

What type of player is being used to play them within a browser?

the videos are converted to .flv, not to .swf. Youtube streams the videos. in other sites, if the vid is a .swf file, you can find the file in the browser cache.

I don't have a box, but Youtube.com just tossed a "Downloader" virus into my Internet Explorer Temporary Cache.

I had just opened up a Youtube page and Norton AV popped up a warning that it'd detected the virus. I assume it's coming from a contaminated banner advertisement, since I wasn't viewing a video or anything at the time.

I used a youtube dowloader to save a video from youtube as a .flv.

Should I be able to ftp that .flv file to my website and have it stream from there if someone knows the URL?
