Teach me about SAABs

SAABs, what is best, etc, special about them? anyone really know much about them on here?

they cost a buttload to maintain, prepare to pay out the arse at the shop

It used to be the same company (Saab Scandia) that made the cars and the airplanes. The airplanes were their original products, and they actually have quite a large range, including turpoprop puddle-jumpers (I've flown on more than one Saab [pre-GM], and ridden in one too). Then GM acquired Saab Auto.

And that's what I know.

Driven one for the past 11 years. Nothing else that i've driven from Inifiitis to Lexuses to Volvos to Civics feels as good. They frickin nailed the steering. I also drove the thing non-stop across the country only stopping for gas and comfort was never an issue.

No major problems, but anything.......ANYTHING.....being done to the car is a fortune. I'm not kidding that anything not cosmetic is going to be $1000 for sure. From a widshiled wiper pump to new brakes and rotors. Expeseive as hell.

Of course, I'm talking about a pre-GM Saab. 😉

Good cars, lesser status within Sweden than Volvo, have that fastback the better for ice to slide off, I've been many times to Nukoping (=SAAB cars) and Linkoping (=SAAB airplanes) & driven thouands of miles in SAAB rentals all over Sweden in all weather.

Good cars. I've never owned one, but I like them & would own one if a good deal came up.
I'd prefer a Volvo (Gothenberg) over a SAAB, bec ause Volvo's are more prevalent where I live, so more parts & service & mechanics for Volvo here.
