Teach a noob to make jello

i bought this powder stuff and it says to add jello to water and chill. I did so and it's been in my fridge for 3 hours but its still liquid.

What do I do?? freezer?? how long does making jello take??

did you make the water hot first then add the powder wait till it cools and pop it in the refrigerator.

Jello dust...I remember making fruit snacks using that stuff in tech lab. You just get a squeeze tube and add a couple drops of water, then powder the top and roll it around. Instant fruit snacks! :D Refrigerate for better consistency.

Directions from store-brand Jello:
Add 1 cup (8oz.) boiling water to the contents of this package*. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1 cup cold water. Chill until set.
*Package is 3oz.

Also, don't leave the spoon in it while it's chilling. It's either Jello or instant pudding that won't set with a spoon in it. I have no idea why.
