Teac CDRW PROBLEM!

HI all. Just booted up my comp on this beautiful easter sunday, (its pouring outside =) and I get an error that my 12x10x32 Teac CDRW was found and Win was installing drivers for it. However upon its own self installation it claims it f***** up. So now I've tried everything, rebooting in safe mode and uninstalling and reinstalling, searching for "Teac" drivers, not a shred of info why this is happening. When I install the Win Drivers (c:\winnt\inf\cdrom.inf) it says "An error occurred during the installation of this device. The data is invalid." In device manager it comes up as "No drivers are installed for this device". I'm running in Win2K and can get a cd to run on the drive, but every time I start Win it tries to reinstall the drivers. So anyone with ANY ideas as to what is happening plz plz LMK . Thnx alot.

It may not have anything to do with it but are you using firmware update 2.0D from Teac?

teac's site says u can't use the firmware if ur in win2k...
