TEAC CD-532S: Why so slow?

Is there any reason why the Teac CD-532S is mind-numbingly slow in audio extraction (2x, ferchristssake!)?
Any way to improve it? Thanks!

Check to see if it's running in Synch mode in your controller BIOS and Windows (if that is the operating system you are using)

There is if you are running win9x. There is a program download from teac that will allow you to adjust several settings. You can find it here. It is the expansion utility you want. If I remember correctly dae tops at 11x. Several of the settings were set very low before I used this to adjust it.

I remember dual booting when I found this and I had to boot to 98 to get it to work. I couldn't get it to work in 2000. It has been a couple of years ago I changed this stuff and don't remember what problems I had with 2000. But if you get it to work on 2000 or xp let me know I will try it again.
