Does anyone know if this drive (TEAC 12x10x32 CD-W512EB) support DAO? Does Nero support this drive? Anyone know how to tell for sure if it's EB without opening the box? Thanks!

Try a thread search in "Hot Deals" I remember reading some of the posts that were comparing serial #'s of the Teac's that had Burn-Proof (EB).........

My Teac came w/Nero and is also supported by Clone-CD ........ it is an OEM CD-W512EB version.
Is your Teac a retail boxed unit ........ ?

Yup. It's a retailed boxed unit. Still sealed too. Comes with easy cd creator though. Well..thanks for the info! Was trying to search for that thread too but I couldn't find it. I'll search some more...

The serial no. on my Teac is 1386320 and Mfg. Date is DEC 2000 ........
If your unit has a larger # or later date it's almost a sure bet that it's an EB.

The serial number on the sticker on the box says #1394619. Can't find a date though...I bought it at the time they had the deal at CompUSA. People were opening em and saying they were all 512EB, so I'm pretty sure mine is...or hope it is.

Yea ......... that was definitely a "hot deal", this is a very good drive it's quiet, burns fast and looks good .......... very generic, plain face .............. which I like.
Don't know if it's the best one available, but it has to be one of the best for the price.
