Agreed, although I'd care if she was a politician. Politicians have the power to make agreements and laws which are binding on me, so their ethics are important to me.

Shrug, I'm more concerned with what they do in office than what they do in their bedrooms. I really couldn't care less who is consensually fucking who, its when they try to "unconsentually" fuck me that I care.

Give me a married Congresscritter that fucks anyone he legally can and respects our constitutional rights over a squeaky clean family man that doesn't any day.

Military wife cheats on husband while he is deployed?

Yeah, that happens thousands of times a day, every day. Forever.

Welcome to the real world.

That it's some bible-banging attention whore who got caught is just a small sliver of justice.

Harsh, but yeh, there it is. If you're gonna talk the talk, you gotta walk the walk.

Maybe thats true, to mind our own business and keep our nose out of it, BUT...

When they shove their moral superiority in our face, they are fair game.

And a slut is a slut, bible or no bible.
Would we feel any better if Hitler had held a bible while ordering the killing of Jews?
Anyone can hold up a bible. Doesn't mean one thing.
Holding a bible or wearing an US flag pin on the lapel doesn't make them holy nor patriotic.

When I see a politician with the US flag pined to their lapel, THAT is a politician to keep your eye on.
Usually those are the politicians that would sell their own grandmother just to make some political point.

I tend to disagree. If you espouse a particular lifestyle and are very publicly critical of those that do not, you can and should be called out for your hypocrisy when you violate the basic tenets of that lifestyle.

Of course that's just my opinion.

If you can't form a cogent argument against this woman's viewpoint without resorting to slut-shaming then I'd question your rhetorical abilities. Her viewpoint is either wrong in spite of her sexual relationships, or it's correct but apparently since she's a bad person we should ignore it. Her hypocrisy doesn't enter into it. I don't need evidence of Jerry Falwell being a hypocrite to note that his particular brand of evangelical Christianity doesn't mesh with my views. Nor do I need evidence that this woman cheated on her husband to dismiss her jingoistic Bible-thumping imagery.

Yeah these past few weeks I've had barely anything to do at the office.

Whats the problem? I am totally fine with people calling her a hypocrite, she is one! She perpetrated like she was supporting the military when in reality, she probably did more damage to that soldier than any bullet or bomb ever will!

She's a terrorist of the heart:eek:

Two wrongs: making a right since 1868!
Her "viewpoint" can be summed up in the images she chose to drape herself in:

Bible + Flag + Hobby Lobby + Chic-fil-a + Pro-Life

All of those images were chosen to portray her values.

Values.

In essence, she's a Christian woman, and a patriot because her husband is off in the desert earning the MIC record profits.

She is vomiting those pictures out as a representative of Tea Party values, and she sure as hell doesn't mind the publicity from them.

Then it turns out that she not only doesn't really give a crap about the whole Christian values thing, but is actively betraying her military husband, which I would argue is pretty much not patriotism, and might even be considered the opposite of supporting the troops - unless it turns out she was banging another soldier, which wouldn't surprise me at all. Even if she was just banging another soldier, I'd call her supporting the troops prowess at best a wash, or on par with buying a ribbon magnet made in China from the local gas station.

When someone chooses to hold themselves out to the public as as example/role model/publicity stunt, they better be damn well ready to face a backlash when it turns out they're nothing but a hypocritical scumbag.

This isn't about her having sex. Leave it to Rush Limbaugh to slut shame women for having sex.

This is about her holding herself out as a symbol for the Tea Party/Conservative/Christian values and being a liar and a hypocrite.

She is free to have sex with whomever she wants, and I don't care.

But if you make yourself a public figure, or adopt it as an identity, watch out when the lie you've constructed blows up.

No problem really, I actually agree with your freedom to waste as much time as you so desire on dumb shit. I hope you appreciate my freedom to say that you're wasting time on dumb shit too.

As far as the woman, people cheat all the time in normal relationships. When you throw in very long periods of time that a partner is completely out of reach people cheat even more. I live very close to a base that has quite a few deployed husbands, it would damn near be a more surprising story if she , nor the deployed, didn't cheat. Besides, how could it possibly be worse? Plenty of women out there and this guy evidently loves his wife enough to stay with her, he only has one life. I'll take a cheating wife over a bomb any day.

Perhaps you are jaded because you could only find one woman to sleep with you? Heres a tip, its all about confidence bro. I know some fat and ugly ass guys that smash tons of ass, if they can then you can too.

Dude what is this about? This article upsets you? It's just a funny case of somebody epically putting their foot in her mouth!

I don't think she's an actual terrorist she's just some dumb girl who cheated, which as you said happens all the time... Lol

And yes it's dumb shit but it's fun to talk about. What's this about not having sex lol? I'm not upset with her at all. I'm sure she's a nice enough person in real life. It's still funny.

Don't take shit so personally.

For me at least this is absolutely not about slut shaming. I don't care who she sleeps with, I just find hypocrisy from people who are critical of others morals to be amusing.

I already know why I dislike her and her views, and if I cared, could formulate cogent arguments against them. The thing is, I don't care...

It doesn't take much effort to chuckle about someone being called on their shit though, so I can be arsed to do that. :)

Edit: I'm shaming her for having sex just as much as I'm shaming this guy for drinking:

Which is to say, I'm not. It's not the act I'm concerned with, it's the hypocrisy.

We should keep our noses out of her sexual affairs just as she should keep her nose out of everyone else's. Jumping on this shit because it's sordid or hypocritical isn't a valid defense; her sexual escapades are nobody's business but her own and the people involved. Any time you repost stories like this you just contribute to the mindset that the basest form of prurient trash is somehow proper journalism.

I don't really judge people for what they do with regards to relationships or straying outside of them. That's their business. But, this woman seems like the type that is ready to judge others based on the rules of her faith, but she can't follow those same rules it seems. I guess the story here isn't so much that she cheated, but that she is a giant hypocrite.

If hypocrites don't like being exposed as hypocrites, I'd suggest they not enter the political and media lime light.

I love the butthurt that predictably flows from idiots like this being exposed though! It conjurs images of poor oppressed christians minding their own business, yet being mercilessly hounded for the sake of slander of political gamesmanship. Oh woe is me!

She chose to use herself as a symbol to espouse some strongly felt ideals, but it turns out that like far too many 'christian patriots,' the two documents of prime importance are given the same 'pick and choose' treatment. Trying to portray this as heartless journalists just muckraking for material doesn't work. If you're mad at your worldview taking another good ding, get mad at the person responsible for it, not the person making you aware of it. Just an idea.

So now some floosy deserves the same amount of amnesty for wrongs committed as the POTUS?
