I would say that these guys were descending into self parody at this point, but they did that a long time ago.

I always kind of assumed that Fox was pretty tepid media to most people that would identify as Tea Party.

Two issues that may have been brought up in the article.

  • Fox News is soft on immigration
  • Benghazi is no longer a story
Republicans have always been soft on immigration, and Benghazi is somewhat settled - though you could make an argument that it ties into the administration's lack of transparency on a wide range of issues.

If they really want to crucify the Pres over Benghazi and the loss of 4 Americans, where were they during Iraq and the loss of 4,400? Makes me think this is just partisanship running its course.

I won't hold it against Fox for trying avoid that. I WILL hold it against this branch of the "Tea Party" for being stupid and creating a negatively partisan message that will lead them nowhere. If they want to amount to more than a late night joke, they need to put down the mad dog routine and stand with Rand.

Is this a Saturday Night Live skit or something from the Onion?

If you read the article it sounds like a spoof or they're intentionally making fun of the protestors tongue in cheek. That paragraph about a FORMER New Hampshire legislator needing his daily fix of right wing commentary and having a hard time without it just sounds too phony to be true.

I'd like to know how large this protest was. 10 people? 5?
