TDK will announce in CEBIT 20/10/40 CDR-W drive

Link

TDK will present on the CeBIT 2001 show 20x writing CDR-W drive! There isn't much info about but it seems it will be 20x CLV recorder with anti-coaster technology. The drive also will support 10x re-writing and 40x reading speed. This means that you will have a full 74min CD ready under 4mins 🙂

Weird... I mean, I guess it's a good speed if you think of the 4x increments from 4x to 8x to 12x to 16x... but didn't Sanyo already announce a 24x one?

Exactly, the 12x TDK is a rebadged Plextor right? And the 16x is a rebadged Sanyo, so why not just rebadge the Sanyo again for the 24x?

Actually I'm not sure anyone knows if the TDK is a rebadged Plextor or vice versa. Neither company are saying whats what. We do know that they use the same parts though 🙂
