TDK veloCD 24/10/40 (Rebadged LiteON) - Any good?

I read that there's an "X" version and a "B" version, there may be a difference in faceplate colours (white or blue) and that the Sanyo boxes say "Burn-Proof", while the LiteONs say "Smart-Burn". Well, the picture on the box shows a blue face while this picture on the TDK site has a white face. (Another oddity is that the picture itself is called "24xveloCDbox_noburnproof.jpg" and it doesn't show ANY buffer-underrun label (beneath the "veloCD"). The page on "Failsafe Write Assurance" does NOT mention a specific technology.

My box says "Smart-BURN", the serial number on the box is B241040Axxxxxx and it was bulit Nov. 2001.

Aw jeez...it looks like the answer was on the bottom of the box!!!:|😱:frown: In the trademark info, it says that "Smart-BURN" is a trademark of LiteON.

/me bangs head on desk

OK, is this the same as the LiteON 24/10/40s that are supposed to read everything well for copying? Anyone have this version of the TDK? How is it?

Hey, I threw out my box...so do you have the X or B version? It should say on the front of the drive.

Haven't opened mine. Wanted to get some opinions before create a potential return hassle. All the clues I have are in the first post and it looks like the LiteON, but is it the same as A LiteON?
