There was already a post for this drive.

But Buy has This drive without the 50cdr bundle for just a little less...

$221.95 - $30 coupon(found at T3chbargains) - $50 MIR = $141.95 (add appropriate tax and shipping)

AND IT'S IN-STOCK.

Less than 30days???

You have a Citibank or Amex CC? If so call em up and find out if you have any options.

Also check the return policy for the item, you might still have time to GRIPE at them to give you the discount...Comes down to whether the difference is worth bitching about. :)

It's now $215 or $135 after coupon and rebate.

I am cancelling my compusa backordered (read blackholed) zipcd order.

Thanks.

Just got confirmation that CompUsa has cancelled my backordered Iomega CDRW. On Saturday (1-13) I ordered the TDK VeloCD for $220.95 from Buy.com ($148.22 when all is said and done). Received it today (1-16). Now I notice it's $214.95. Wrote them and received the following:

Our price match policy states that if you purchase a product from us and
find it at a qualified competing Internet retailer for a lower price
within three (3) days of purchase, we will gladly issue you a price
match refund for the difference.

So I guess I'm out $6, no big deal. At least the drive is here, where as the Iomega isn't. Too bad I didn't use my new AMEX card. Oh well.

From the description someone has posted here about the firmware update
(v1.07) and what that firmware does and the other packaging, I'd have
to believe that this drive is probably a rebadged Plextor drive. If
so, this is a pretty darn good price. Plextor makes some of the best
CD equipment. RAW-DAO mode support for use with CloneCD, burn proof,
etc etc..

I found a way to shave more $$$ off this deal:

Click here to be forwarded to the page at buy.com with the velocd + 50cdr's. Now, click on this $10 rebate for the CDR discs, and then here for the $50 velocd rebate. Then use the $30 off $150 coupon, and the total is $131!

$221 - 50 - 10 - 30 = $221 - 90.

$221 - 90 = $131 plus shipping!

Gold,

Thanks for that update, and I hope someone can use it (since the Spindle is bundled with the drive).
