What are you guys/gals opinions on TDK burners? Are they any good? I know Plextors are good, but I found a deal for a TDK for 109.00 for a 32x10x40 drive, not bad at all in my opinion.

Thanks

I have a 16x tdk that works very good. Came bundled with nero and 2-3 cd-rs and cd-rws. Was at best buy the other day and was very tempted to get the 32x model because the price is pretty low but I resisted (for now!).

12x VeloCD here too and no complaints. Good bundle (Nero and all sorts of junk) and it's basically the same drive as Plextor

My 24X works fine, and I installed the same one for my mom.......the burner queen:) Both working just fine.

Thanks guys/gals :)

I think I may give it a try. I noticed this same drive extracts audio tracks from cd's at 40x, damn...that's sweet!

I bought the VeloCD 32x 10x 40x a few days ago. My only previous experience was a 4x 4x 20x imation that only made coasters. I was shocked at how fast this baby is, and all my efforts have made perfect cds. It was easy to install with good documentation and good software for everything.

The Best Buy sales guy said the laser is made by Plextor, a change from previous TDK models. It cost me $149 and came with a $30 mail-in rebate. Good luc,k I think you will be happy with this one.

I have a TD 12/10/32 drive, and am quite satisfied with it. My only problems with it are, that it is not fully CloneCD compatible, and that it doesn't support DMA properly in Win2k.
