The RioVolt SP250 is probably the best right now in allowing you to navigate through your MP3/CD Audio Tracks. The SlimX is the coolest looking one though. I have the RioVolt SP100 and it eats batteries, so if you're in the market for a CD/MP3 player, you're better off getting rechargeable batteries too.

I bought one of these a while back at much higher price. Even though it is a good built player with LCD that shows sufficient information, there are few pain points that would make me recommend anyone to pass this.

- it does not have built-in charging capability for rechargeable batteries. For the price I paid ($109), it should have.
- if you use alkaline or rechargeable batteries, they recommend taking out the batteries before using the AC adapter or car adapter. This is such a pain. Even old dc devices, automatically disconnect the battery when you use adapters.
- Except when you use DOS 8.3 file names, it has trouble reading some file names. I name the files on my computer for use with other players and my RIO Network player in an Album Name - Title or Artist Name - Title. It has trouble with some of these
file names. Even after checking with their Navitrack program (which is not really useful), it has trouble reading the file names.
- Now here is the bad part, even if just one file out of all in the CD has a problem with file name, then the entire disc cannot be played. This is because as soon as you put a disc and start the player, it spends some time reading all the file names before starting to play. If you have problem, it will get stuck on the song.

So if you are going to use only alkaline batteries or only the adapter and you name your files in 8.3 or just the title name, go ahead it is a good player. Otherwise look for another one.
