Picked up this 50 pack spindle today, think it's a great deal considering no rebates or coupons required. Everywhere else it's like ~$30. I think it's only B&M Staples

There is a MIR 4 them I believe. Check TDK site or do a search here. That I know is a fact that someone did post a link to TDK rebates. BTW turn your PM private message on. U can find it in your profile.

Can you tell us where they are made? Is it Japan? And if there's a rebate can you post a link? I can only find rebates for the 74 min CDs
Thanks

The place where they're made is usually different across the nation. Here on Long Island, I've been fortunate the past several times to get the ones made in the US.

See if you can get the rebate form from Staples or CompUSA. I've searched around on TDK website and can't find it anywhere. Someone has posted a scan of it here though. They do say "Enclose this original, filled-out request ..." on the form, so I'm not sure if TDK will accept a paper printout or not. In any case, my 2 spindles, got two weeks ago in the DC metro area, were made in Taiwan.

I bought 2 TDK spindles from Staples and used $15 off $40 coupon. The total cost is $7.xx after the $20 rebate ($10 for each). They are made in Taiwan, not Japan. But who cares when you can get 100 Cd-R for only $7.xx? People are picky like they are paying $70+ for 100 CD-R and they have to be made in Japan. :p

I got the same 50pk TDK from CompUSA sales about 2 weeks ago. It was $14.99 with $10 rebate, so the total came to $4.99 after rebate. The rebate I got from the store was very similar to the one linked at the message above. It was a very bad xerox copy with a few of the words chopped off at the right side of the page. I believe the mailing address is the same, because I remember it was going to the city of "Young America". The coupon also say "include this original rebate coupon", so I guess a copy should be okay if CompUSA was handing these "copies" out. Oh and they were made in Taiwan. Burnt a few audio CDs on my ANCIENT 2x CD-R drive, works great so far.

The TDKs from Taiwan are pretty poor quality (Ritek). I'd advise you not to put any critical data on them, as the dye might start bleeding over time.
