Costco has TDK 32x/10x/40x CDR-RW for $139 - $50 MIR = $89
Also, 100 pack TDK 32x CDR media for $34.99 - $20 MIR = $14.99 (Yes, they are TY)

I went to the Costco at Irvine today (technology drv.), they still have a bunch of them left.
They have both Reitek and TY media, so make sure you check to see if it's made in Japan or Taiwan when u buy. The packaging are different too.

Just a note, in case people are wondering: THe TY discs are the "Made in Japan" ones.

By the way, I have this drive, and it's incredible.

Yes, B&M.

Costco's web site is pretty strange. Most of their computer stuff is B&M only.

Just picked one up at Costco here in NY. Quite a nice upgrade from my 4/4/16 Yamaha burner. This one's got the Buffer Underrun Protection which my old drive didn't have... Nice.

Just burned my 1st CD at 32x... while surfing... and checking email... and virus software running... NICE !!!

Great Deal !!!

...now, need to fill out the rebate before I forget.

Wow..great deal...too bad I just got the 16X variety of the same brand a few months back for the same price. :(
I was wondering why you need to check where they're made from? Are the Japan ones a lot better than those from Taiwan?

TY are made in japan and are better made. the others come from taiwan and are not made to the better japanese quality. On the cheap ones from taiwan if you just scratch the label side you could run the risk of ruining the whole disc which is because the layers are cheaply made. Other problems are the real color of the usuable write surface not being up to par. stick with japan made cd-rs it will save you some aggravation in the long run.

Sorry had to leave for a few minutes. The lasers on most cd-rw can write on quite a few different surfaces. if the color of the writable surface is not uniform it can cause mistakes or it could cause a slowdown in write speed which with mixed mode and audio cds, you really do not want that to happen as it causes tics and other noises to show up. I am not saying that all disc that are made in taiwan are bad but they do have their share of junk cd-r s. With the cost so low on the good ones like fuji, tdk from japan, and other good brands why take the chance.

My 12x TDK burner is a rebadged Plextor. Just wondering whether the 32x TDK is also a rebadged Plex. If it is then this is a good deal.

Not really! If it isn't, I'd rather get the 32x Cendyne (rebadged Lite-on)
from Officemax for $52.
