I just read in a thread where someone stated that the manager of TDK decided to honor the rebate...well i just called today 1/25/2001 and the lady i spoke to rudely told me that they would NOT honor the rebate nor would she let me speak to a manager. I am going to send off a letter to TDK today and if i do not get a resolution within one week this is what i will do:
1) File a complaint the the BBB
2) Take this to my State Attorney Generals Office
I would not be so upset if this was my fault but i called TDK far after 1/1/2001 and was told by two different CSR's that the rebate was valid for Buy.COM. I feel like this is not Buy.COM's fault at all. They did not promote the rebate nor did they promise anything. Its all TDK. We can not allow companies like this to get away with such a fradulant act. And for designergrl or whatever her username is this is not whining this is nothing about reasearch into the rebate...we were told by TDK directly that they would honor the rebate. It is not our mistake but TDK's and they should be liable for there actions. No one is forcing you to read the pertinent threads. This is a very large company tring to screw its user base. Can we allow this? I think not!! Its not a matter of the money for me its the principle. If anyone speaks to someone at TDK and gets this resolved let me know...get their Name and extension so everyone will know. Lets just hope we get this solved quickly and painlessly.
