TDK 12/10/32a, Nero 5.0.4.6, and XP

Suddenly, out of the blue... Nero decides to stop recognizing my CD-RW drive. I am in WinXP. It's worked time and time before... just tonight when i put it in... its not working anymore. I have rebooted a coupla times, and stilll no avail. Uninstalled and then re-installed Nero, no use. This is the 12/10/32a drive, so only works with Nero, so i cant try other programs. XP still recognizes the drive, and it still works as a normal CD rom drive, but without burning capabilities... whats the point?

ANy ideas on why this would suddenly happen???

i sure dont wanna reformat...

Maybe if you ran an update over the old installation?

hrmm.. i will try but i highly doubt thats the issue.

would anything make my CD-RW not be recognized?

1) download the XP upgrade for CD-ROM burners (via windows update)
2) try running your CD-RW in PIO mode instead of DMA
