And here is a link to the weekly ad:

Update: As mentioned below in the thread, this is an INSTANT REBATE, not an MIR !!! Also, now that the new Best Buy website seems to be working fine, this item is also avaibalble online with free shipping at the first link mentioned above.

Nice price except for having to wait on a fairly large rebate. This media is on the recommended list for my new Optorite which is good. It would take me a while to use that many discs. They would probably be below $1 by the time I was half way through them.

hot hot hot. 4X brandname DVD+R seems generally cheaper than 4X brandname DVD-R now.

I think the Sony DRU 500A is capable of burning at 4X for +R right? I know it cant burn at 4X for some DVD -R's.

Don't know about the Sony but my NEC 1100a burns 4x with them. They are Ricohs.

I was wondering if anyone who had used these discs had ID'd them with DVDInfo to see who actually made them. I had bought some Verbatim 4X +R discs at Office Depot recently and they turned out to be Ricoh which supposedly are some of the best you can buy. I should have bought more of them. They were just under $35 after taxes for a cake of 15 and you got another 15 free so it was 30 for $35 which ain't bad for high quality 4x discs.

See my post above, yes, they are Ricohs. I bought 200 of them several weeks ago. Excellent media.

GoodToGo,

The good thing with DVD+R is that if it says 4X, you should be able to burn at 4X. This is unlike the situation with many DVD-R drives which may or may not be able to burn 4X media at the stated speed. Not to crap on DVD-R, though. Each format has its advantages! Your drive should be able to handle these nicely.

So I'm wondering if we could use our 10% off coupons that we got in the mail the other day to make this deal even hotter???

$189.99 - 10% = $171.00

$171.00 - $60 rebate = $111.00 + tax

or about $1.19 a disc

I had one with firmware 1.0g and the disc was unreadable in the middle, then I upgraded to 2.0f and my LiteOn 165H had problem reading the whole thing, but then the 165H had problem reading the Princo while my LF 4320B reads just everything fine.

So I don't know if it was a media problem or a LiteOn problem, but the good thing is, you can return things easily from B&M stores.

You're right - My bad - I was looking at a few different offers at the same time, and mistook this also to be a mail-in rebate, while it was an instant one!

Best Buy has launched their new web-site today, and here is the new link to this product (although the price is still the old one - 189.99):

TDK 100-Pack 4x DVD+R Disc Spindle

Also, the weekly ad had this fine print for this item:

Minimum 5 per store. Limit 1 per customer. No rainchecks.
