TCP/IP networking with Win2K and Whistler

I just set up a router with FreeSCO, and am getting my two main desktop systems networked. Both were running Win2K, and NetBEUI worked. I stuck a Whistler beta on the 2nd machine, and it doesn't appear to come with NetBEUI. I'm trying to get them networked using TCP/IP and am having problems. They both can connect to the internet through the router, but I can't get them to share files between each other.
Router is 192.168.168.69, Win2K machine is 192.168.168.100, Whistler machine is 192.168.168.101
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0
Gateway and DNS is router's IP.
Both on the same workgroup.
Nothing in WINS, should there be?

Ah, one other thing. Have you shared the hard drives properly? If there is a dollar sign at the end of the share name on the hard drive, they will be hidden shares and you will not be able to transfer files (to something that's not there).

1- Can the computers see each other in [network neighborhood/my network places/whatever the hell M$ calls it now]?

2- If they can't, try Start>Find>Computers, and search.

If either of the above works, it means NetBEUI is up & running; you've just misconfigured the shares.

(10-to-1, that's what happened. :-] )

If step 2 worked but step 1 didn't, try setting one of the computers as WINS server, and on the other look in TCP/IP properties and punch in it's ip.

If none of the above works, go back and make sure you enabled "file & print sharing", or similar, on both computers.

G'luck.

NetBEUI doesn't appear to be included with this beta of Whistler. It's not listed as installable. Besides that, doesn't TCP/IP offer greater performance?

Computer 2 doesn't show up in Network Places on Computer 1, and Computer 1 doesn't show up in Network Places on Computer 2. Same workgroup.

File and print sharing are enabled.
